Their official name is 'Bou Neko' ('Baton Cat') but I call them little kitties :3 They were created by Naito Design Insitute and have their own official account featuring them out and about town in Japan. I'd love to take them out for photoshoots but am wary of them getting lost or dirty!

The white kitty is a gift from my partner and I got the black and white kitty as my gift for a Secret Santa exchange. I ordered the rest from Japan to complete the collection.

Here are three Craftholic keychains that I have attached to my bag. Craftholic is a Japanese brand for huggable plushies and other soft and cute goods based on their mascot characters. I wrote a bit about the little friends below on my journal.

These days, I only get small and light soft toy keychains like these as the string attaching bigger ones to the metal chain tends to snap off. Smaller soft toy keychains are less squishy but they're great companions all the same while getting around town!

I just remembered that this comm existed and thought that this would be nice to share here.

A bit ago I stumbled across this Tumblr page called Raichu Quest! The blog shares photos that the owner takes of Pokémon plushies doing various things. Mainly a Raichu like the title suggests, but sometime other Pokémon as well! Lately, there's been a lot of cute photos of a Hisuian Zorua plush.

Here's some of my favorite photos:
A charming close up of a Raichuu.
Umbreon, Raichu, and a tiny Vaporeon watching a campfire.
Raichu cooking stew!
Umbreon and Raichu at night.
Vaporeon, Umbreon, and Raichu exploring the snow.

Every time I browse through all of them, I get motivated to go out and take photos myself! They're so cute!

I made these stuffed animals as gifts a couple of months ago. They’re both using patterns made by Nuno, specifically her golden retriever and dalmatian patterns.

I am not an avid Squishmallows collector, mostly due to price point and space to house them, but I got unreasonably excited about the 5" (4"?) Halloween Mystery Squad capsules this year. We did have a local store that actually got them in, but they also sold out almost completely the same day they went out. I did manage to get one, though I had hoped for more. I knew I would be happy with any of them, even if I did have a hierarchy of most wanted. The pumpkin was at the bottom of the list and the werewolf was at the top.

Things in my life got a bit crazy and I didn't get a chance to open it until November (I had been waiting until Halloween day). It turns out I got the pumpkin Squishmallow with the werewolf's tag. This amused me greatly.

This was also apparently a gateway Squishmallow.

In mid November, the discount grocery store we do most of our shopping at had the entire Desert Squad for a third of the going retail price at the time. I couldn't decide between Asley the Vulture and Oden the Peccary Pig, so I bought both. (I think they are the 12" size.) I did hand them over to someone else to hide them from me until Christmas.

They are so soft and squishy and I have missed them while I have been housesitting.

I found a meme at ourflagmeansdeathbb on Instagram that I found really touching that also feels appropriate to share here, and while I can't figure out how to to share the meme directly, I have typed up the message on it. It looks like the text was originally by neuroticboyfriend on tumblr.

"all your stuffed animals love you. they're not sad if they're in a box, or on the floor, or not held/played with as much. they understand. they know that you might need another stuffie more, or that you don't have enough space. they're just happy to be with you, and if you ever give them away, they'll be happy there too. stuffies are for comfort. they understand. they love you too. it's okay."

Much Loved Photographs by Mark Nixon is a lovely little book. It has photographs of of peoples' much loved stuffed toys with stories about their loved toy. It's precious. I suggest people who love their stuffies track down a copy.

I'm bored and procrastinating from sleep, so I thought, "Why not share some of the stuff I've made?"

I'm an avid knitter and crocheter who LOVES to make amigurumi and other soft toys. Just how many have I made? Well, here's a clipped screenshot from Ravelry, a knitting and crochet site, which shows the count:

A clipped screenshot from Ravelry, showing the number of softies I've made.

ONE. HUNDRED. SIXTEEN. That's a lot of softies!

Here's some of my favorites:

Knitted Kitties
I love this pattern! It's a very fun knit and the result looks realistic. I can't have a real cat for Reasons, but these knitted kitties sit on my bed and cheer me up every time I look at them. I like to pat their heads whenever I pass by. Here's a link to the pattern. It's by Sara Elizabeth Kellner, who's a WIZ at shaping knitted objects and has many delightful softie patterns.

Windy Storm
I play Final Fantasy XIV, an MMORPG video game. I love the game dearly. When one of last year's patches came out, everyone went nuts drawing their characters in the gearset you get during the patch. Well, I can't draw but I *can* knit, so I knitted one of my characters from the game wearing said gearset. Both the doll and the gear are completely designed and knitted by me, based on their in-game likenesses.

(Image Description: a knitted doll of one of my Final Fantasy XIV characters. She has green skin, short gray hair, a reddish-orange "tattoo" on the right side of her face, and a mole near her left eye. She's wearing a light brown tunic with pleats at the skirt portion, with dark brown boots.)

"Rubber" Duckies
This is a totally fun pattern that's quick and easy to make. I've made at least ten of these! Here's the link to the free pattern.

Alisaie!
Quite possibly my favorite knitted doll! This is a doll of Alisaie Leveilleur, one of the main characters from Final Fantasy XIV. I am quite smitten with her, so of COURSE I had to knit her. This is her outfit she wore in the Shadowbringers expansion. Again: completely designed and knit by ME, based on her in-game design.

(Image Description: the front view of a knitted doll of Alisaie, a character from FFXIV. She is smaller than my other dolls with thinner limbs. She has blue eyes, large pointed elf ears, and a mess of white hair on her head. She's wearing a red dress with a fur-trimmed brown jacket, and white boots.)
A back view of a knitted doll of Alisaie.
(Image Description: The back view of a knitted doll of Alisaie, a character from FFXIV. This view shows off her white hair, which features a long braid. Her hair is not 100% accurate to the game but I'm still proud of it because HAIR IS HARD, and my styling here does give the feel of her in-game hair.)

Hi! I thought I'd start off my posting some of my soft toys from Ikea! These first ones are recent but these two tigers were from when I was a kid! They're super special to me, even if they're a little grimy and beaten up by now :)

I have some more and I might post if them if I can find them.

This is my test for a first post. Hullo!

I'm your friendly neighbourhood admin, Mousecky. I like to collect soft toys.

If you like any sort of soft toys, including teddy bears, merchandise of other things, plush animals, stuffed art dolls, etc... or even make your own, I hope this is a good community for you. Anything of the sort is welcome here. :-)

Personally, I collect hide (X JAPAN) plushies as well as whatever nice toys catch my eye. I would love to collect Mori Chack's stuff (Gloomy Bear, General Purpose Rabbit, etc.) but they can get very expensive.

If anyone joins: What soft toys do you own? Do you collect anything in specific, and is there anything you'd like to own? Do you make any toys? It would be lovely to hear!
